Infusion Therapy may be Ordered for Lupus:

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic (long-term) disease that causes systemic inflammation which affects multiple organs and is diagnosed by your physician, usually a rheumatologist. You may experience fatigue, weight loss, and fever. It is recommended that you stay active and avoid excessive sun exposure.  When other medications are not controlling your symptoms, IV Care Options staff can be there for you to administer infusion therapy if your physician orders it.

This medication reduces certain cells in your immune system that can make your lupus active. While it can be given under your skin, it can be administered through your vein.  The infusion lasts an hour and is given every 2 weeks for the first 3 doses followed by an infusion every 4 weeks (monthly).  You can learn more by visiting this site.
